Tennessee Vols 2015 Recruit Khalil McKenzie Named Number One Recruit In Country

Tennessee Vols 2015 Commitment Khalil McKenzie has just been upgraded to the new number one recruit in the Country according to Scout.com.

McKenzie has been highly regarded as one of the nation’s top defensive lineman since he finished his Junior season. He was dominant at The Opening where he collected the Defensive Line MVP for his effort. Heads were turned all over the country as he manhandled the top Offensive line recruits. Scout.com was very impressed of course.

Khalil announced to a televised audience that he would take his talents to The University of Tennessee in 2015. Volunteers fans were holding their collective breath as he announced his intentions. The McKenzie name is no stranger to Vol Fans. His father is former Vol great and Oakland Raiders General Manager Reggie McKenzie. His Uncle, Raleigh McKenzie, is also a former Vol and NFL player.

Vol fans will hope this number one recruit will make a difference anchoring a defensive line that has been much maligned and ineffective over the past few years. Fans will also remember another number one rated recruit that did not turn out as expected. Bryce Brown was brought in by Lane Kiffin to shore up the backfield. He left Tennessee after one year on Rocky Top.

It really does not matter if Khalil hangs on to this ranking through the end of the season in the long run. What matters to Tennessee fans is that a dominant defensive lineman with Tennessee ties is coming home. This is the recruit this program needs.
