The Tennessee Vols won’t play football again until late December/early January, but they could still choose to honor victims of the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge fires.

Vols players and coaches have done their part this week to help out in any way possible with the terrible fires in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area.

Sometimes support is all that can be offered, but that support means the world to those suffering.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Tennessee chooses to continue that support in their bowl game.

Vol fan Chad Fields, who regularly tweets out some pretty awesome uniform concepts (@CfieldsVFL), tweeted a pretty cool logo/patch that Tennessee could possibly wear.

A lot of folks across the nation, given the nature of our 24 hour news cycle, will probably completely forget about the devastation in East Tennessee.

But not the Vols and their fans.

Tennesseans have a unique way of taking care of their own. And I’d imagine Tennessee will do whatever they can, for as long as needed, to help the Gatlinburg area.

Wearing a logo or a patch isn’t much. But sometimes the sincerity behind an action is what really matters.

Who knows what the Vols will decide to wear, if anything. But this design by a Vol fan would definitely be a fantastic choice.
