The Chicago Cubs’ 2016 World Series trophy recently visited Knoxville and the Tennessee Vols.

There aren’t many people more revered in Tennessee Vols history than legendary basketball coach Pat Summitt.

And there aren’t many things in baseball more revered than the World Series trophy.

The Tennessee Smokies, the double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, somehow got their hands on the 2016 World Series trophy and decided to take it for a tour.

The trophy eventually made its way to Knoxville.

And any trip to Knoxville has to include a stop at the statue of the legendary Tennessee basketball coach Pat Summitt.

That’s a whole lot of awesome in one picture. Especially if you’re one of the many Vols/Cubs fans out there (surprisingly there are quite a few).

If you’re a fan of the Smokies, by the way, then you’re probably hoping for a better showing than what you got this past season.

The Smokies finished ninth in the Southern League, their worst finish in the last 15 years. They haven’t made the playoffs since the 2013 season, when they lost in the semi-finals.

Perhaps the spirit of Pat Summitt will bring the Smokies some good luck.

Honestly, I can’t think of a better good luck charm for anyone in East Tennessee than Pat Summitt.
