2017 is a pivotal year for the Butch Jones and the Tennessee Vols.

The Tennessee Vols are coming off back to back nine win seasons, but that doesn’t mean the fanbase is completely happy with the direction of the program at the moment.

If you look simply at the win loss record, it’s obvious that things have improved since Derek Dooley was dismissed as head coach in 2012.

Vol fans, especially those born before 1990, are not accustomed to nine wins seasons being considered a success. Especially when the team was picked to win the SEC East.

Because the Volunteers didn’t meet expectations in 2016, a lot of analysts believe Butch Jones is on the hot seat in 2017.

Unfortunately for Jones, it isn’t clear what will and will not be acceptable in 2017.

The Vols lost a lot of talent from last season, which means expectations won’t be quite as high in 2017. But Tennessee will still be expected to be a factor in the SEC East.

If Jones doesn’t at least match last season’s win total, he could be on his way out at UT.

Fair or not, that’s just how it goes in today’s college football landscape.

With that in mind, we took a game by game look at the Vols’ 2017 schedule. This is obviously all subjective, but here is how we believe Tennessee’s record will look at the end of the regular season.
