The Tennessee Vols landed a huge in-state recruit on Tuesday.

2018 four-star defensive tackle D’Andre Litaker committed to the Tennessee Vols on Tuesday afternoon.

Litaker is a 6’2″/302 lb defensive lineman from Murfreesboro, TN (Riverdale). 247Sports’ composite rankings rate Litaker as the 7th best 2018 player in the state of Tennessee and the 23rd best 2018 defensive tackle in the nation.

The Tennessee native committed to the Vols over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina and Texas A&M, among several others.

This is a huge get for Butch Jones and the Volunteers, as Litaker is one of the top in-state players in the 2018 recruiting cycle.

Tennessee now has 13 players committed to their 2018 class.

Eight of those players, including Cade Mays (the top 2018 player in the state), are from Tennessee.

The Vols have to continue to lock down the majority of elite in-state talent. You obviously can’t land them all (some kids have their hearts set on leaving the state), but landing most of them is a must if Tennessee plans to compete for the SEC Championship.
