The Tennessee Vols enter the 2017 season with expectations that aren’t quite as high as they were a year ago.

A year ago at this time, media analysts were suggesting the Tennessee Vols were a team that could be a contender to make the College Football Playoff.

And for the first five games of the season, it looked like they were correct.

Vol fans were dreaming of Atlanta the moment Jauan Jennings caught Josh Dobbs’ hail mary pass in Athens.

But it was downhill from there for the next few weeks.

Tennessee dropped three games in a row after their miracle win against Georgia.

The Vols somewhat rebounded after their three straight losses by winning three games in a row.

But then Tennessee inexplicably lost the regular season finale to Vanderbilt. And that’s when fans became incredibly upset.

Which is why the 2017 season is so important for Butch Jones and the Vols.

The only way to make up for not living up to expectations is to exceed expectations.

And that’s exactly what needs to happen this season.

With that in mind, with the season starting in just a month, here’s how we think the Vols will fare in each of their games this season.
