The Tennessee Vols have long been known as Wide Receiver U. Receivers such as Stanley Morgan, Larry Seivers, Willie Gault, Tim McGee, Carl Pickens, Kelly Washington, Alvin Harper, Joey Kent. Marcus Nash, Cedrick Wilson, Donte Stallworth, Robert Meachem, Cordarelle Patterson and Justin Hunter have all run through the T and into the end zone at Neyland.

Tennessee will be just fine this season as well. The Vols will return receivers Marquez North, Josh Smith, Pig Howard, Josh Malone, Von Pearson, Jason Croom, Johnathon Johnson, and Cody Blanc. They will also add five star freshman Preston Williams in the Spring. He is the real deal.

Tennessee is coming off of a season where the receivers were successful, but did not really shine as they could have. Much of the shine came off early as the offensive line struggled to protect Senior Quarterback Justin Worley. As the line became better and better and Josh Dobbs took over for an injured Worley, the passing game played second fiddle to the running game of Dobbs and Hurd.

There were also a lot of injuries to a group that looked really deep at the first of the season. Josh Smith went out early in the season with an ankle injury and did not return. Marquez North was banged up much of the season, and Jason Croom played hurt often as well.

If this group can stay healthy, I still say it can be as good if not better than any other lineup of receivers that have put on the orange and white in the same season. These guys are really good, and this offense is going to get even better because of these guys.
