A Look At Tennessee Vols Receivers

Jason is a beast. At 6’5″ and 245 pounds he is the Tennessee Vol version of Megatron. The minute I first saw him on the field at Tennessee in an Orange and White Spring game I thought “I would throw the ball to him every time in the red zone”. At 6’5″ he can out jump everyone. And he can.
Croom had a very good season in a back up role in 2014. Jason gets in the game early although he did not start many games. He is just too good to sit on the bench. Jason had to get used to the college game his freshman year. Although he was physically mature enough to handle the rigors, he had to learn the offense and how to run precise routes.
He made big strides in both of these areas last season. He only had 21 receptions for 301 yards on the season, but had 4 big touchdown catches. The most memorable was a reception in the end zone as time expired to tie the game against South Carolina. The Vols went on to win that most important game.
Croom proved he could play and play at a high level. Jason will get his chance again this season to show off. He is a huge target for Vol quarterbacks and is definitely a mismatch in the red zone offense.
The best thing Vol fans have to look forward to with Jason is that he is actually a Junior. If he makes strides this season and next like he did last season, Tennessee will have another top SEC receiver at Wide Receiver U.
