Danny O’Brien

Red Shirt Junior Danny O’Brien had an outstanding 2014 season. O’Brien and Owen Williams were thrust into the role as run stoppers as defensive tackles for the Vols last year.  O’Brien had to stay on the field for way too many snaps as the Vols simply had no one else to play the position.

O’Brien will be in the mix at defensive tackle again in 2015. He will have some help this season though, which should make Danny even more effective when he is in. I look for him to start in front of Khalil to begin the season, but either way, he will play a lot.

O’Brien is lunch pail, blue collar guy. Tennessee is famous for this type of player. That is why I like him so much. He has decent size at 6’2″ 301 and is tough inside. He will be a big factor and reason that no one will run on the Vols in 2015.
