Kendal Vickers

Kendal Vickers was a much improved player in the spring. Butch Jones singled Vickers out for his performance throughout the entire spring training. He played sparingly in 2014. Vickers had to get stronger, and put on a little more bulk to handle the rigors of playing defensive tackle in the SEC.

Well, he is there now. At 6’3″ and 286 lbs he has come into his own. Vickers has continued to impress the coaching staff with his relentless work. Vickers came to Tennessee out of North Carolina back in 2013. He is now a Redshirt Sophomore that will provide much needed depth at the defensive tackle position for the Vols.

It will be hard for Vickers to get the start of course. There are a lot of talented young men now at Tennessee. Vickers is definitely more than capable of holding his own, and he will only get better. He will more than likely be playing behind Williams, O’Brien, Tuttle, and McKenzie. But he is right there with them. He is not the guy you put in when you are 40 points a head.

No, he can play in any SEC game and perform at a high level. These are the guys that will make this line not just a good line, but a great line. You have to have depth.
