The Tennessee Vols’ impressive 2017 recruiting class now stands at 27, with Wednesday’s addition of offensive tackle K’Rojhn Calbert.

Calbert, a native of Mcminnville, TN (Warren County), chose Tennessee over South Carolina.

The 6’5″/290 lb three-star recruit told 247Sports that he chose the Vols because he wanted to stay close to home.

That’s obviously great news for the Volunteers, because their offensive line continues to be a work in progress.

It wouldn’t be a shock, if Tennessee doesn’t make some drastic improvement, to see the Vols move on from offensive line coach Don Mahoney.

UT’s offensive line was one of the few things in good shape when Butch Jones and his staff arrived on Rocky Top in late 2012.

There was obviously a mass exodus of talent that left Tennessee after the 2012 and 2013 seasons. But the drop-off in the performance of the offensive line has been a point of contention for Vol fans throughout Jones’ tenure.

The Vols, as they continue to add players like Calbert, have plenty of talent up front. They just need to figure out how to get the most out of the players on the offensive line.
