Vince Carter won’t suit up for the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night, in what might have been his final game in Toronto.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Vince Carter’s longevity in the NBA has been incredible.
But it might be nearing the end for the 39 year old.
Carter, who turns 40 in January, will not suit up for the Grizzlies on Wednesday night against the Toronto Raptors. He’s dealing with an apparent hip injury.
What was possibly last chance to see Vince Carter in Toronto won't happen. VC won't play tonight. #Raptors vs Grizzlies on @Sportsnet

The former UNC Tar Heel started his NBA career in 1998 in Toronto.
It’s uncertain what the future holds for Carter, but it’s possible that Wednesday night would’ve been his final opportunity to play in Toronto.

Carter played for the Raptors until 2004.
Outside of the sentimental aspect of Carter missing this game, there’s also the reality that Memphis could’ve used him against Toronto.
The Grizzlies will be playing without star point guard Mike Conley, who is expected to miss six to eight weeks with a back fracture.
Carter, who is averaging 9.3 points a game this season, likely would’ve seen an uptick in minutes with Conley out.
The Grizzlies will now have to lean even heavier on second year guard Andrew Harrison, who has struggled shooting from the field this season.

The Grizzlies and the Raptors tip off at 7:30 pm et on Wednesday evening.
