Tennessee Titans Quarterback Marcus Mariota Braces For The Extreme Cold
By Zach Ragan
Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans will head to Arrowhead Stadium this weekend to take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Winter is coming.
At least for Marcus Mariota and the rest of his Tennessee Titans teammates.
The Titans travel to Kansas City on Sunday to take on the first place Chiefs.
Temperature at kickoff is expected to be 8 degrees, which would be the second coldest temperature in Titan history.
For Mariota, a native of Hawaii, it will likely be the coldest game he’s played.
So what is Mariota’s plan for dealing with the extreme cold?
According to Titans Online, his plan is to not even think about it.
"Mariota: If you just don’t even worry about it, you don’t even think about it, it won’t bother you."
Bold strategy. Not sure how that will work out for Mariota, but I guess it’s really the best plan you can have. There really isn’t much else you can do.
Though if you’ve never played football in eight degree weather, it’s hard to know what to expect.
I can barely walk my dog when it dips below freezing, let alone throw a football accurately down the field.
But Mariota’s a pro. And he know what a huge game this is for the Titans.
Plus, he was at least able to get a good “warm up” to the expected low Kansas City temperatures. Mariota and the Titans practiced in 22 degree weather on Thursday.
If Tennessee can make knock off the Chiefs on Sunday, they will be in a prime position to win the AFC South.
There’s no doubt this is the biggest game of the year for the Titans.
