David Blackburn As Tennessee’s Athletic Director

Dave Hart is on the way out, which means Tennessee needs a new athletic director.

And there isn’t a more obvious choice than David Blackburn, who is the current athletic director at Tennessee-Chattanooga.

Blackburn has strong UT ties. He spent over two decades at Tennessee in various roles, including assistant director of compliance, director of football operations, assistant athletic director for football operations, and associate athletic director.

The fact that Blackburn has all of that experience at Tennessee, plus he now has experience as an athletic director, makes him undoubtedly the person that should land this job.

But for some reason it hasn’t happened yet.

Which has Vol fans worried it might not happen.

David Blackburn was with Tennessee during the glory days. He knows exactly what needs to be done to return to the those glory days.

Bringing Blackburn home would be a fantastic way to kick off 2017 for the University of Tennessee.
