Derek Barnett Returning For Senior Season

It’s called a wish list for a reason.

This is probably the most unlikely “wish” on this list, but oh boy would it be awesome (like Peyton Manning coming back for his senior season awesome).

Derek Barnett hasn’t announced yet if he will skip his senior season and declare for the 2017 NFL Draft.

But the writing is certainly on the wall.

Barnett will likely be a top ten pick.

It’s hard to blame him if he does declare. It’s not like he’s going to improve his draft stock by returning in 2017, no matter how great of a season he has.

Barnett will probably break Reggie White’s sack record in the Music City Bowl, and then immediately announce that he’s heading to the NFL.

And Vol fans will be thankful for the three seasons they got to watch Barnett wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks.
