10. Maren Morris — “My Church”

Sometimes a newcomer to the country music scene has to pay their dues and just hope that a song hits on radio.

But that wasn’t the case for Maren Morris, an immensely talented singer-songwriter from Texas.

Morris, co-wrote her debut single, “My Church”, with busbee, had a smash hit with her debut single.

The song pays homage to some of the country music greats, such as Johnny Cash and Hank Williams.

“My Church” also had some crossover appeal. Billboard ranked it as the 15th best pop song of 2016.
