Vols Football: Nebraska Displays All The Class

Tennessee and Nebraska will face off in the Music City Bowl on December 30.

Nebraska and the Tennessee Vols will play each other on December 30 in the Music City Bowl in Nashville.

The Cornhuskers will be showing incredible solidarity with Tennessee in that game, by showing support for the Gatlingburg/Pigeon Forge communities that were recently ravaged by wildfires.

This is about as classy as it gets.

In today’s 24 hour news cycle, it’s easy for stories to get lost.

Outside of East Tennessee, a lot of folks have already moved on from the terrible wildfires.

But the damage and devastation is still very much a problem in the area.

So it’s pretty awesome that Nebraska is choosing to stand with the Vols and stand up for East Tennessee.

At the end of the day, football is still just a game.

And while the Music City Bowl will obviously be a competitive battle between two storied programs, it’s still nice to know that sometimes football can take a backseat to more important issues.

By the way, in case you forgot, the Vols will be wearing their smokey grey uniforms to honor the victims of the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge wildfires.

Tennessee and Nebraska kick off at 3:30 PM ET on Friday.
