2016 was a year where the Tennessee Vols failed to live up to expectations, which means Butch Jones is on the hot seat heading into 2017.

Fair or not, Vols head coach Butch Jones is on the hot seat heading into 2017.

That seems odd to say when you’re talking about a coach in his fourth season coming off back to back nine win seasons.

But losing to two terrible teams and costing yourself a shot at the SEC Championship game, and the Sugar Bowl, will do that to a coach.

Jones obviously needs to switch some things up in 2017, in order to ensure he keeps his job beyond next season.

But Jones has shown a penchant for stubbornness when it comes to change.

Perhaps coaching for his job will be the motivation he needs to make necessary changes in 2017.
