Hire Mark Helfrich As Offensive Coordinator

Mike DeBord hasn’t done a bad job as Tennessee’s offensive coordinator.

But I think we’ve seen his ceiling at this point.

If Butch Jones and the Vols are able to go out and get Mark Helfrich, they should do it.

They have to do it.

Helfrich is an elite offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. We’ve seen that in his work at Oregon.

Landing Helfrich would be huge for Tennessee’s offense and recruiting.

It would also help develop the Vols’ young quarterbacks.

DeBord was successful in large part these past two seasons because of Josh Dobbs’ ability to make things happen when plays were breaking down. He won’t have that luxury next season without Dobbs.

Helfrich is exactly what the Volunteers need to take their offense to the next level in 2017.
