Tom Manning

Current Position: Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach at Iowa State

Well again, if you want to be elite, you have to hire great coaches.

And Tom Manning is exactly that — a great offensive coach.

Manning was Football Scoop’s 2015 offensive line coach of the year.

What’s so impressive about that is he won the award while he was at Toledo in a year where the entire offensive line had graduated.

Manning led an entirely new offensive line unit to the the best rushing offense in the MAC in 2015 (207 yards per game).

Toledo also allowed only four sacks in 2015, which is incredibly impressive.

It will probably be hard to lure Manning from Iowa State — he played college football with the Cyclones’ head coach.

But as they say, money talks.

Manning is currently making $350,000 a year annually at Iowa State.

Tennessee can afford to put a little more cash in Manning’s pocket, if he wants to make the jump to the SEC.
