Defensive Backs

Players signed:

  • Maleik Gray — Four-star
  • Cheyenne Labruzza — Three-star
  • Terrell Bailey — Three-star
  • Theo Jackson — Three-star
  • Shawn Shamburger — Three-star

Grade: B+

I really like the group of defensive backs that Jones and the Vols signed.

In fact, I’d say they’re a little bit on the underrated side.

Gray is the headliner here, but I think guys like Bailey and Jackson have plenty to offer.

Tennessee definitely needed to sign some quality defensive backs. Their pass defense left plenty to be desired last season.

Overall, I’d say new defensive backs coach Charlton Warren will have some solid freshmen to work with in 2017.
