2. Tennessee 23 South Carolina 21 (2013)

It’s really hard to put this game above the 2016 win against Georgia, but it’s a very important moment in Butch Jones’ carer as Tennessee’s head coach.

Without this win against South Carolina, the 2013 season is probably considered a major failure.

Michael Palardy’s game winning field goal against the Gamecocks gave the Vols a win over a ranked team for the first time since 2009 against South Carolina (the famed black jerseys game).

There wasn’t much to celebrate in 2013 for Tennessee — it was their fourth straight season with seven loses.

But the win against South Carolina at least gave Butch Jones his signature win, and something to build on for the 2014 season.
