9. Tennessee 38 Nebraska 24 (2016)

The Vols needed a win against Nebraska in the Music City Bowl this past season in the worst way.

Tennessee was coming off a season ending loss to Vanderbilt, which caused them to miss out on a potential opportunity to play in the Sugar Bowl.

This was after the Vols blew the SEC East with an inexplicable loss to South Carolina (combined with the Vandy loss).

So suffice it to say, spirits weren’t too high on Rocky Top.

If Tennessee would’ve lost to Nebraska, it would’ve meant their win total from the previous season actually decreased by one.

Fortunately for the Vols, they came ready to play in Nashville.

Tennessee took a 21-7 lead into the half and they never looked back.

It wasn’t the bowl win the Vols dreamed of before the season started, but it was a big win given the circumstances.
