Derek Barnett — Defensive End

Projected draft range: Mid to late first round

Derek Barnett will probably end up being the highest drafted Vol in 2017.

But I’d be incredibly surprised if ended up on the Titans’ roster.

The Titans have two fine edge rushers in Derrick Morgan and Brian Orakpo, so there really isn’t much of a need to add Barnett.

There’s the possibility that Tennessee could trade their fifth overall pick and perhaps receive another later first round pick.

However, I still can’t see the Titans taking a defensive end in the first round, even if they do trade down and Barnett is the top player available when their selection comes around.

Barnett is going to be a hell of bargain for whichever NFL team ends up taking him, but it almost definitely won’t be the Tennessee Titans.
