Matt Cassel — Quarterback

I’ve made no secret that I think it would be great if the Titans were able to draft Tennessee Vols quarterback Josh Dobbs in one of the later rounds.

But I still think the Titans need to bring Matt Cassel back.

There are a lot of benefits to having a veteran quarterback on the sidelines.

Cassel knows his role. He’s almost like having an extra coach on the sideline.

And even if the Titans do draft Dobbs, or another young quarterback, you still need a veteran as your main backup.

Sure, if Mariota were to suffer a long term injury, you might throw Dobbs (or whoever) out there and hope for Dak Prescott type results.

But if Mariota is forced to miss a game (or a half), then you’d probably want Cassel there for that spot start.

Cassel is one of the better backup quarterbacks in the league. You might as well bring him back for another season or two.
