Markus Wheaton

  • 2016 Salary: $700k
  • Age: 26
  • 2016 Stats: 4 Rec — 51 Yards — 1 TD

Markus Wheaton missed most of last season, but he’s still a dangerously fast player that can be a big play threat on the outside.

Wheaton, due to the crowded wide receiver group in Pittsburgh, has never really “broke out”.

It’s unlikely the Steelers re-sign Wheaton, which means he will almost certainly be looking for a new home when free agency begins.

Wheaton, in my opinion, is a cheaper, more riskier, version of Kenny Stills.

The former Oregon State standout is always a threat to make a big play. But can he stay on the field? That’s the big question.

It’s worth noting what Wheaton and Titans defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau were in Pittsburgh together during the 2013-14 seasons.
