AJ Bouye

ESPN recently reported the Houston Texans “really want” AJ Bouye back next season, but they opted not to place the franchise tag on him (which would’ve paid him north of $14 million).

Houston is a bit on the cash strapped side, so they might not be able to bring Bouye back next season.

Which would be great for the Titans, because it means they can either go after him (which they should), or he will possibly leave the division (also good for Titans, but not as good).

Bouye came out of nowhere last season to become the Texans’ best cornerback. He had 63 tackles last season, and two interceptions in the playoffs.

Shutdown corners in the NFL are rare. Bouye isn’t quite at that level just yet, but he has that potential.

The Houston Press noted the Titans as one of four teams that could potentially swoop in a steal Bouye from the Texans.

AJ Bouye is a player on the rise. He’s going to make quite a bit of money this off-season, but the Titans would be very smart to be the team that makes the highest offer.

You have to spend money to go deep in the playoffs, and the Titans have the cash to spend this off-season.
