Jamal Adams — Safety — LSU

The Titans signed Johnathan Cyprien this week, which greatly upgraded their secondary, but that doesn’t mean they won’t draft Adams with the fifth overall selection.

If Adams is available when the Titans make the fifth pick, there’s no way they can pass on him.

There aren’t many players in the draft that are more of a sure thing than Adams.

In fact, there are some folks that believe Adams could be the best player in the draft.

Even if the secondary isn’t as big of a need for the Titans as it was before free agency started, it’s still a need.

And drafting Adams would give them the best player available, as well as fill a need.

Adams is a hard hitting safety that’s excellent against the run, but he believes he offers more than just great run defense.

From NFL.com:

"“I can play everything in the back end. Coming down in the slot, come down on the tight end and cover. I can fill that A and B gap. Be in the box. I can also play man-free,” Adams said Sunday. “I feel I can play everything in the back end. I get classified as a box safety which is not something that I like, but I understand, because I like being around the ball. I (also) like making plays on the ball.”"

If Adams falls to the Titans, and recent draft projections suggest he will, it would be a crime for the Titans not to select him.
