Tennessee Titans: Five Players The Titans Should Consider Later In The NFL Draft
By Zach Ragan
Blair Brown — Linebacker — Ohio
Blair Brown is a little undersized, but he could be fun to watch in the right defensive scheme.
Brown was extremely productive in 2016 at Ohio, notching 128 tackles (15 for loss) in 14 games for the Bobcats.
The one consistent thing that draft analysts tend to say about Brown is that he has great “ball hawk” skills. He always seems to find himself near the ball.
Those instincts are hard to teach, which is why I think he’d be great in Dick LeBeau’s defense.
He might not be the ideal fit for the Titans (some folks believe he’s better suited to be a weakside linebacker in a 4-3 scheme), but good football players fit where they’re needed.
Here’s what NFL.com has to say about Brown:
"Brown isn’t going to check off the “physical traits” boxes for teams who always prioritize height-length-speed at linebacker, but he gets a big check mark in the “find ball, get ball” box. He’s instinctive and has the play strength and leverage to fight through blocks and make his way into tackling position. Despite just one season of high-end tackle production, he has the anticipation, athleticism and toughness to make a roster and eventually challenge for playing time."
I think Brown would be a very intriguing pick for the Titans later in the draft.
