1.18 — OJ Howard — Tight End — Alabama

The Titans might be tempted to take Washington wide receiver John Ross with the 18th pick, but they’d be wise to select Alabama’s OJ Howard if he’s still available.

Howard was recently described by NFL Draft analyst Bucky Brooks as an “almost can’t miss prospect“.

There’s no guarantee that Howard will be around when Tennessee makes the 18th selection. Some mock drafts have him going in the top 10, while others have him falling to around 20th.

Teams may be weary of Howard’s perceived lack of competitiveness.

That’s an understandable concern, and I think it warrants him falling out of the top ten.

But I don’t think the Titans should pass on a potentially explosive playmaker like Howard.

Delanie Walker isn’t getting any younger. Howard could be the perfect player to replace Walker in the Titans’ offense.
