Jake Owen got candid during his recent appearance on Bobby Bones’ “Bobbycast”.

Jake Owen went through some tough times when he and his ex-wife divorced in 2015.

And apparently during that time, Owen would use marijuana to take the edge off.

"Owen: I had a blow up air mattress, and some weed, and like I was disappointed in myself. Not so much for the weed thing….just damn what did I do to be sitting here by myself."

Owen was discussing the time right after his divorce, which he spent in a townhouse that he lived in as a bachelor.

I’m sure it was an incredibly tough time for Owen and I don’t think him using weed matters one way or the other.

Marijuana usage has become increasingly more accepted by Americans.

In fact, you’d probably be surprised how many country music stars partake of the semi-illegal substance.

There have been several songs written about the subject. Songs like Eric Church’s “Smoke a Little Smoke” have no problem addressing weed in such a direct way.

And there are plenty of other thinly veiled references across country music.
