Tennessee Titans: Mel Kiper Makes Picks For Titans In Three Round Mock
By Zach Ragan
3.83 Mack Hollins — Wide Receiver — North Carolina
This seems way too high for the Titans to select Hollins.
Most draft analysts have Hollins falling to day three of the draft, so it’s very surprising Kiper has the Titans taking him in the third round.
I’m a fan of Hollins and I’ve suggested he’d be a good fit with the Titans, but that’s if he’s selected in the fifth or sixth round.
Here’s what NFL.com says about Hollins:
"Hollins has four things that teams will look for on Day 3 of the draft — height, weight, speed and special teams ability. Taller receivers usually need a longer runway for their build-up speed, but Hollins appears to be able to access his top gear relatively early which makes him such a dangerous deep threat considering his above average height. Hollins’ ability to cover both punts and kicks should give him early work as he continues to learn the receiver position."
If the Titans are going to draft a wide receiver in the third round, I’d rather see them take Tennessee’s Josh Malone.
The former Vol has a history of getting into the end zone, and he could be a consistent deep threat for quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Tennessee could also choose to select another cornerback in the third round. There are plenty of quality cornerbacks that will be drafted in third round.
