Tight End — Jakob Johnson

Senior

Jakob Johnson has never really had a chance to make a big impact during his time at Tennessee.

Johnson will be a senior in 2017, which means it’s now or never for the German Vol.

When Johnson originally signed with Tennessee it was as a linebacker, but he was moved to tight end before the 2015 season.

Johnson’s main contributions as a Vol have come on special teams. He only has two career receptions.

But there is reason for hope for Johnson in 2017. He was recently named spring’s most improved offensive player.

Ethan Wolf will obviously be the Vols’ starting tight end in 2017, but if Johnson can get on the field, he could finally make an impact for the Volunteers.
