Defensive Back — Nigel Warrior

Sophomore

Nigel Warrior saw a decent amount of action as a freshman in 2016, compiling 22 tackles in 12 games.

The Georgia native, however, will likely be counted on to be a starter in 2017.

More from Tenn Truth

Fortunately for the Vols, Warrior’s had a damn impressive spring.

Tennessee defensive coordinator Bob Shoop told the media earlier this spring after five practices that Warrior had “probably been the best player” so far for the Vols.

Shoop continued his praise on Saturday, saying that Warrior had been “solid” this spring.

Warrior has been playing with the Volunteers’ first team defense this spring, partially due to injuries (Evan Berry and Micah Abernathy have been limited), but he will undoubtedly be a key part of Tennessee’s defense in 2017.
