Josh Dobbs — Quarterback

Pittsburgh Steelers — Round 4 Pick 135

We all thought Josh Dobbs would be drafted a little earlier (thanks to a nearly out of control hype train), but the outcome ended up being great for the former Vol signal caller.

Dobbs will likely be the third quarterback on the depth chart from day one, and it shouldn’t be that hard for him to overtake incumbent backup Landry Jones, if he can quickly grasp the offense.

(Which shouldn’t be that hard for the ridiculously smart Dobbs.)

Ben Roethlisberger is nearing the end of his NFL career. So there could be an opportunity for Dobbs to at least audition to be the next starting quarterback for the Steelers.

More from Tenn Truth

Dobbs is great at throwing the deep ball, which is a must if you want to lead Pittsburgh’s offense.

There have been a lot of comparisons made between Dobbs and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The landing spot for Dobbs should only continue those comparisons.

Playing behind an aging quarterback, with a history of injury, means Dobbs could find himself in the same position as Prescott at some point in 2017.
