September 9 — Indiana State @ Tennessee

Regardless of what happens in the Vols’ season opener, this is a game that is perfectly placed on the schedule.

If Tennessee loses the opener to Georgia Tech, then they’ll need this game to regroup and refocus.

But even if the Vols do beat Georgia Tech, they’ll still need this game to prepare for a trip to the swamp to take on the Florida Gators.

We’ll learn a lot about how the Vols plan to use their quarterbacks in the season opener, but this game will provide Butch Jones the opportunity to use both of his quarterbacks in various situations. That is, of course, if he chooses to do so.

Either way, this is an easy win for the Volunteers.

Prediction: Tennessee wins (2-0)
