Tennessee Vols: Butch Jones Top Ten Recruits At UT
By Zach Ragan
1. Derek Barnett — Defensive End
2014 Class
It’s quite fitting that this list ends with yet another Tennessee native.
There aren’t many players that were more dominant in their college football careers than Derek Barnett.
Barnett left Tennessee as the all-time leader in sacks, and that doesn’t even begin to tell the entire story of him as a defensive end.
During Barnett’s three years at Tennessee, he continually amazed fans. Barnett would chase down opposing running backs, drop into coverage and always be there to save a play when it broke down defensively.
Of all the players that Tennessee lost this past season, Barnett will likely be the hardest to replace.
Barnett is a once in a generation type player and the Volunteers were extremely lucky to have him.
