Tennessee Vols: Butch Jones Top Ten Recruits At UT
By Zach Ragan
6. Josh Malone — Wide Receiver
2014 Class
Josh Malone, another Tennessee native, broke out in a big way as a junior in 2016.
Malone finally gave Josh Dobbs a legitimate deep threat in 2016. The Gallatin, TN native caught 50 passes for 972 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The 11 touchdowns were the third most in Vol history.
Malone averaged 19.4 yards per catch, which is the highest average in Tennessee history. His high per catch average shows how reliable he was as a deep threat.
Unfortunately for the Vols, Malone chose to skip his senior season and instead enter the NFL draft. He was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round.
