Former Tennessee Vols QB Sheriron Jones Chooses New School

Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Sheriron Jones, who was released from the program in early May.
Ryan Bartow reported on Friday afternoon that former Tennessee Vols quarterback Sheriron Jones has signed with Independence Community College in Kansas.
Jones will have two years of eligibility remaining after the 2017 season.
The 6’2″/208 lb former four-star dual-threat quarterback out of Moreno Valley, CA (Rancho Verde) was rated by 247Sports as the seventh best dual-threat quarterback in the nation in the 2015 recruiting cycle.

Jones was slated to be the third quarterback on the Vols’ depth chart in 2017, behind Quinten Dormady and Jarrett Guarantano.
Will McBride, a true freshman who was an early enrollee this year, is now Tennessee’s third quarterback.
Jones should have no problem finding a new home in the next recruiting cycle. He’s a talented quarterback that will be able to come in an compete to start immediately for a Power-5 program.
