Nashville Preds: Everything That’s Going On In Rex And Rob Ryan Bar Fight Video

Former Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan and his twin brother, former defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, found themselves in a bit of a bar scuffle on Sunday afternoon in Nashville.

As you’re probably aware by now, Rob and Rex Ryan were in Nashville over the weekend to take in the Nashville Preds’ matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins in game three of the Stanley Cup Finals.

The weekend started out innocently enough on Saturday, with the brothers taking a turn on the “Smash Car” before entering the arena to get down with some beers.

Apparently the brothers decided to stick around in Nashville after game three, likely to take in game four.

The Ryan brothers were spotted early in the afternoon on Sunday posted up at Margaritaville on broadway.

And then things went south.

My first question is how did Rob and Rex manage to get the table by the window in Margaritaville?

I’ve walked by this bar a countless number of times and it’s always the one of the first bars filled to the max on broadway. It’s a standing room only by noon type of place this time of the year. It’s not like Rob and Rex walk into a place and everyone is turning their heads. Casual or non-sports fans probably just thought they were a couple of random tourists. But either way, they landed a prime spot early in the afternoon and decided to post up.

Perhaps the star of this video are the clothes chosen by the Ryan brothers.

Rob went with the cargo shorts (highly questionable piece of clothing these days, according to some folks) and a random Clemson shirt. Rob and Rex both have sons that walked on to Clemson’s football team.

Rex’s choice of clothing is a bit more perplexing. The former Bills head coach decided to hit broadway in some basketball shorts and a Bryce Harper jersey.

The irony of Rex being involved in a bar fight while wearing that jersey, just a week after Harper was suspended three games for attempting to fight shouldn’t be lost on anyone.

(Harper, by the way, probably had some flashbacks of his scuffle with Jonathan Papelbon after seeing Rob go for a guy’s throat. Maybe he should incorporate that into his already questionable fighting style.)

And how about the the poor lady in the red shirt with a margarita just trying to get past Rex without spilling her drink. I feel for ya, lady. I’ve been there. Those margaritas aren’t cheap, can’t afford to get one knocked out of your hand.

At the end of the video you can see Rob being held back. It appears to be his son Matthew, one of the walk-ons at Clemson, that’s attempting to hold him back. For what it’s worth, he did a pretty good job.

No one knows what started the scuffle, but I’m sure it was just a minor incident fueled by alcohol. Not really a big deal to be honest.

What’s apparent, however, is the Ryan brothers just like to have a good time.

(It looks like they even took in a little bonfire action this weekend.)

Hockey, food, brews and bruises. Sounds like a good weekend to me.
