Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota recently revealed he’s never touched alcohol.

There aren’t many Americans that can say this, but Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has never had a sip of alcohol.

Not even when his Titans teammates were downing Bud Lights at a recent Nashville Predators hockey game.

That might come as a bit of a surprise, considering he plays a game that is somewhat built around the consumption of alcohol.

Beer and football pretty much go hand in hand. A good majority of the advertisements, whether on television or at the stadium, are geared toward alcohol.

But that’s just not who Mariota is. It doesn’t seem like he takes offense to others partaking, it’s just not for him.

It’s been well documented that Mariota, even if the NFL allowed it, would not endorse any beer or tobacco products. He has certain core values that he holds close and he doesn’t stray from those values.

And that’s probably not a bad thing. Mariota’s decision to stay away from alcohol has likely saved him from a lot of bad decisions and weekend mornings spent chugging gatorade and popping advil.

Kudos to Mariota for staying true to himself.
