4. Vol Navy

Tennessee’s “Vol Navy” is one of the most unique traditions in all of college football.

Former Vols broadcaster George Mooney inadvertently created the Vol Navy in 1962 when he would use the Tennessee River as a more effective way to arrive at Neyland Stadium.

The “sailgating” that now takes place before games is an incredible site.

Some fans never even make it from their boat into the game, electing to watch the game from the river.
