2003 Season: Tennessee 10 Miami 6

Date: November 8

Location: Orange Bowl (Miami, FL)

Rankings: Tennessee — 18, Miami — 6

Attendance: 69,722

Why was it the biggest win of the year?

The fact that this game was a 12:00 PM game was a travesty, but that’s for another day.

Tennessee scored all 10 of their points in the second quarter and only allowed two field goals to the Hurricanes in this defensive battle. The win against Miami was easily the high point of the 2003 season for UT.

The win vaulted the Vols to the top ten, where they remained the rest of the season until their loss to unranked Clemson in the Peach Bowl.
