2007 Season: Tennessee 21 Wisconsin 17

Date: January 1, 2008

Location: Raymond James Stadium (Tampa, FL — Outback Bowl)

Rankings: Tennessee — 16, Wisconsin — 18

Attendance: 60,121

Why was it the biggest win of the year?

The Vols had some big SEC wins in 2007 against Georgia and South Carolina, but the Outback Bowl win against Wisconsin brought Tennessee to 10 wins for the first time since 2004.

Tennessee hasn’t got back to double digit wins since the 2007 season.

The win against Wisconsin was essentially the beginning of the end for Tennessee football as we knew it in the 90’s and 2000’s (minus the dreadful 2005 season).

This was the last game for offensive coordinator Dave Cutcliffe at Tennessee, who took the head coaching job at Duke before the Outback Bowl.

Fulmer would replace Cutcliffe with Dave Clawson.
