5. The Titans Will Reach The AFC Championship Game

I’m not crazy enough to think the Titans will reach the Super Bowl this season (though it’s entirely possible), but I do think they’ll make a deep playoff run.

The Titans’ offensive line is one of the team’s biggest strengths. Teams that make deep playoff runs are teams that can win the battle in the trenches in December and January. The Titans are one of those teams.

Tennessee’s ground game will also be a key factor in a run to the AFC Championship game. DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry are two bruising running backs that can punish opposing defenses. If the Titans are smart and correctly manage the distribution of carries between their top two running backs, then both should be fresh for the playoffs.

And finally, the Titans added enough offensive weapons in the draft to have plenty of depth in the passing game. Just because the Titans are a run first team doesn’t mean they can eschew a productive passing game.

Rookie wide receiver Corey Davis is the type of wide receiver that helps you win playoff games. He’s a big target that’s sure handed and can make the tough catches to extend drives late in the game. By the time the playoffs come around, he’ll have the experience necessary to be a key factor for the Titans.
