Catch up on all the latest Tennessee Vols news in our morning briefing.

If Tennessee Vols head coach Butch Jones is truly on the hot seat, it definitely isn’t having an effect on recruiting. The Volunteers are currently on a recruiting roll, as they currently have the top recruiting class in the SEC.

One reason the Vols now have the top recruiting class in the conference? The recent addition of junior college defensive end Dorian Gerald.

The Vols will be relying on plenty of youth in 2017. Here are five freshmen to watch for this upcoming season.

Two Tennessee freshmen wide receivers are now on campus, according to 247Sports. Jordan Murphy and Jacquez Jones have both recently arrived in Knoxville.

The Vols unveiled their 2017-18 non-conference hoops schedule. Tennessee’s non-conference schedule includes games against ACC opponents North Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Wake Forest. They’ll also play Iowa State and make a trip to the Bahamas to play in the “Battle for Atlantis”.

Tennessee’s new athletic director, John Currie, has said all the right things since he was hired to replace Dave Hart. Fans weren’t happy about the hire at the time, but Currie has done nothing but good things since coming back to Tennessee. He knows the athletic department won’t be perfect under his watch, but he’s prepared for whatever might come his way.
