Quinten Dormady — Quarterback

If Tennessee doesn’t get good quarterback play, then none of the other stuff will matter.

That’s why Quinten Dormady is so important to the Volunteers’ success in 2017.

Dormady hasn’t been named the starter, and he likely won’t be before the season opener, but I think he’s the guy that will give the Vols the best opportunity to win.

The Vols are at their best when they’re throwing the ball down the field. An improved offensive line should give Dormady plenty of chances to make plays with his arm.

Obviously Dormady won’t able to do as much with his legs as Josh Dobbs, but he’s still an athletic guy that can scramble and improvise if needed.

The hope, however, is that Tennessee’s offensive line will be better and Dormady (or Jarrett Guarantano if he ends up seeing significant action) won’t have to use his legs as often as Dobbs did during his time in Knoxville.

Tennessee will only go as far in 2017 as their starting quarterback will take them. And that’s the reason that Dormady is the player that is the biggest key to the Vols’ success in 2017.
