Tennessee Vols: 2017 Pre-Season SEC Power Rankings
By Zach Ragan
7. Texas A&M Aggies
Kevin Sumlin and Butch Jones could probably have some interesting conversations.
Both Sumlin and Jones have been mentioned at various points this off-season as coaches that are on the hot seat, despite recent winning seasons.
Sumlin has never had a losing season as the Aggies’ head coach, but he hasn’t topped eight wins in any of the past three years.
And I think it’s unlikely he’ll get more than eight wins in 2017.
The Aggies, like the Volunteers, will be breaking in a new quarterback in 2017 while dealing with the loss of one of the best defensive ends in program history.
But with that said, the Aggies should still be good enough to be the fourth best team in the SEC West. They’ll struggle against the upper echelon of the SEC West, but they shouldn’t have any problems against teams like Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
