Derek Mason — Vanderbilt Commodores

Actor: Mahershala Ali

What you know him from: House of Cards, Moonlight, The Hunger Games

Why this works: Derek Mason seems like a pretty smooth guy. He has energy, but he’s not over the top.

Mahershala Ali is about as smooth as it gets.

I’m not sure how Ali would do with some of the intense, in your face coaching moments, but otherwise I think he would be a fantastic option to play Mason.
