The Vols, after a historically great offensive season in 2016, have a new offensive coordinator this season.
But they didn’t bring in someone from the outside, instead they elected to promote from within.
Larry Scott, who served as Tennessee’s tight ends coach last season, will handle play calling duties in 2017.
So what will the offense look like this season? There have been rumblings that Tennessee will actually go under center some with Scott calling plays. That would definitely be a welcome change for a team that’s strictly operated out of the shot gun, even in goal line situations, for the last four years.
I imagine a lot of elements in the offense will remain the same, but I think we’ll also see some new looks from Tennessee in 2017.
